Dan Smith Mr. Smith began leading MariTEL in February 2002 following a successful career as a senior-level executive with BellSouth Corporation (now AT&T). He was Executive Vice President of Latin America North for BellSouth International since 1998, where he managed mobile and fixed telecommunications businesses in Venezuela, Colombia, Nicaragua, Panama, and Guatemala. He led the companies from business planning to network deployment and operations and consistently exceeded profitability and operational objectives. Prior to his assignment at BellSouth International, Mr. Smith served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for BellSouth Cellular and Regional Vice President for BellSouth Mobility. Before a successful acquisition by BellSouth, Mr. Smith served as Group Vice President of American Cellular Corporation where he launched many of the country's first cellular networks as early as 1986 and demonstrated an exceptional operational track record that is unsurpassed in the mobile wireless communications industry. Jason Smith Jason joined MariTEL in March 2002 as Vice President Business
Development and successfully repositioned the company's VHF spectrum assets
for public safety and critical infrastructure solutions. In 2005, he helped formulate
MariTEL's business relationship with Sea Tow and is now responsible for operating the company's
rapidly expanding communications network to deliver VHF spectrum, systems and services for the marine industry.
His thirteen years experience in telecommunications
consists of various sales, marketing and engineering positions with
Bell South (now AT&T), Nortel Networks, and Atlanta based Fiberworks, Inc.
where he developed a broad knowledge base of public carrier and enterprise voice & data
networking businesses incorporating both wireless and wire line networking technologies. Jason holds a B.S.
in Management with a concentration in finance from the Georgia Institute of Technology. |
